Professor Y. Jane ZHANG's paper "Culture, Institutions, and the Gender Gap in Competitive Inclination is advanced published online at the Economic Journal

"In this paper Professor Y. Jane Zhang of HKUST uses economic experiments conducted with three ethnic groups in Southwest China to show that culture can be shaped to reduce the gender gap in competitive inclination, a widely documented phenomenon believed to explain persistent gender inequality in the labor market."
